Chapter 5 : Decision Making Style

From what we have learnt on the class, there are four (4) types of decision making styles.
1.         Analytic
2.        Behavioral
3.        Conceptual
4.        Directive
People tends to make different types of decision making styles to finalize their decision depends on the situation they are going through.
1. Analytical

  • A person analyse the situation, come out with all possible probabilities.
  • Used logical reasoning.

2. Behavioral

  • A person make decision but their focus is on people around them.
  • The have low input information.
  • Works well with others.
3. Conceptual

  • Have wide range of information - for long term decision.
  • Choosy.
4. Directive

  • Systematic.
  • Do not works well with others.
  • Have little information.

Based on 127 HOURS :
Kristi Moore and Megan McBride was lost in Blue John Canyon. Both Kristi and Megan was actually afraid of Aron Ralston because he is a stranger. After a while of thinking of their situation, they decided to accept the help offered by Aron as they are lost and have no idea where to go but to just trust the map. This is where CONCEPTUAL style of decision making was used.

In the same scene, Aron was seen used the BEHAVIORAL style of decision making by simply offered help to Kristi and Megan.
